“I want all kids to be a better version of themselves so they can be healthy and live long lives.” –Me, Taj
My name is Taj. I’m 16, and I’ve been working as a Strength Ambassador at MissionFit for the past 6 months. This has been my best job because I stay out of trouble, and the staff cares about me.
MissionFit is more than just a job or a place to be; you feel like you are a part of a family. After I finished the summer program, they asked me to stay on as a Strength Ambassador. I wasn’t sure at first about it, but they’ve helped me so much, and I’ve brought my friends and family into MissionFit. I bring them to show them that there’s a way out. You really can’t feel alone at MissionFit. Even though I sometimes have problems expressing myself, the coaches are always patient and kind enough to let me vent, and they can relate to some of my problems.
Since this was my first job, MissionFit helped me be more professional and not let my emotions get the best of me. I know how to handle stress and anger in different ways. This has helped me have a more professional attitude, where I am careful about what I say to others and how I say it because it can have consequences.
What I like the most about coaching is seeing the potential in younger kids. I get to show them new things and see them make progress. I want all kids to be a better version of themselves so they can be healthy and live long lives. I like talking to the kids and getting to know them, asking them how their day went. I want them to know that the gym is a place to learn how to be strong and healthy in their mind and body.
