The first week of July marked the launch of our summer program—and the beginning of the Strength Ambassador journey over the next 5 weeks. Coach Camille and Coach Ross took the reins, guiding our Strength Ambassadors through a powerful start into coaching. The focus? Building self-awareness, communication skills, and knowledge about the body, rooted in mindfulness, movement, and motivation.
Through discussion, practice, and guided reflections, our youth explored what it means to coach—and be coached—with intention. We asked them questions that matter: “What does communication mean to you?” “How do you like to be coached?”
They dug deep into coaching not just as a skill, but as a relationship. Respect. Energy. Modeling. Encouragement. These words didn’t just fill the room—they became the blueprint for how they wanted to show up as leaders.
But no one expected they’d be called to lead so soon.
On the first day, a youth partner program visited—and our Strength Ambassadors were asked to step in and help create the best possible environment. No prep. No plan. No sweat – well, okay, there was a decent amount of sweat.
But they didn’t flinch.
By midweek, one led the warm-up, calm and confident. Another encouraged peers with “You got this,” offering gentle corrections and adjusting for age and energy. They stayed present. They stayed together.
In that moment, theory became practice. Reflection became leadership. They coached the way they wanted to be coached: with clarity, compassion, and connection.
That moment didn’t just test their growth—it revealed it.
We are excited to witness their continued growth in the upcoming weeks.
